LAKERS EXCELLING in ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
The LEAP Program is designed to assist 7th and 8th grade students with their academic and social transition from elementary school to junior high school, to promote a healthy school community, and to help students build resiliency skills to risk behaviors.
This program is in its sixth year following an enormously successful first five years. The program is designed to foster an environment that provides opportunities for each student to excel academically and to become a positive member of the school community.
The program is designed to provide opportunities for students to become better learners by allowing them:
to learn academic success strategies
to learn organizational and study skills
to complete work independently and successfully
to become better school citizens by practicing respect for their classmates and their teachers
